Chlumecky heads into Lites L1 for 2013 mini-programme.

June 18th, 2013

6th Gear Racing driver Michal Chlumecky took part in his first race weekend in the IMSA Lites L1 class last weekend at Mid Ohio Sportscar Course (Lexington, OH). With a sizeable jump in car performance and with a different driving style required compared to his old style L2 West WR1000 (now discontinued in Lites) Mike very much enjoyed his first try of the larger and faster Elan DP02 in a competition environment. The learning experience is steep in this kind of car, and while Mike didn’t get the race results he wanted yet he came away from the event very excited and keen to get back in the car for his home event at Mosport in July. Mike is also intending on adding a third race event this year before 6th Gear Racing put together a programme for a fuller attack on the L1 championship for 2014.

The press release for the event can be found here: http://prototypelites.com/news/rayhall-takes-checkered-after-rough-start
